Based in the North-West, near Manchester, I achieved my screenwriting MA from Salford University in 2005.
I've had a few competition wins, all of which have credibility in the industry and were fun to be a part of.
I was one of the winners of the Red Planet Prize, which resulted in development with Kudos Productions for one of my TV pilot pieces.
I also won one of the BBC Writersroom initiatives, which created a similar opportunity with the BBC.
Winning an opportunity to write for Doctor Who was especially satisfying, having been a fan since childhood.
The novel I was published in, "How the Doctor changed my life" has since become quite collectable and sells for eye watering amounts on ebay. It makes me wish I still had a few copies left.
I write in different genres from urban drama, to comedy to sci-fi. Different budgets too. There is always a way to make it work, right?
Whatever the genre, I am interested in complex, flawed characters that we can all relate to and be affected by.
I would like to think that I am good to work with. This is a collaborative endeavour after all.
Feel free to contact me directly if you want a more detailed CV, want to read some example pieces, or just want to say hi. I am also a part of Bafta Connect.
